Both formats lead to the CWMP™ certification and cover the same core GLP-1 curriculum. The differences come down to format, CMEs, hands-on body contouring training, and how the credential renews.
In-person training is listed as Program 5 on the symposium registration page. Limited capacity — reserve early.
I learned how to add a successful weight loss program to my practice and start a whole new adventure. The best seminar I have attended. Wish I had brought my office manager.
Dr. J. Jackson, MD
Both formats cover the same core GLP-1 curriculum and lead to the CWMP™ credential. The right choice depends on how you learn best and what you want to add to your practice.
The core curriculum is the same for both formats. In-person training includes one additional module on advanced body contouring.
Non-invasive fat elimination technologies, skin tightening devices, and complementary aesthetic treatments — including CoolSculpting®, Vanquish®, and SculpSure®. This module is only available in the in-person format.
Both formats lead to the Certified Medical Weight Management Provider™ (CWMP™) credential. The difference is how it renews.
Your CWMP™ certification renews automatically each year at $597. Each renewal includes access to any new content added to the program, ensuring your protocols stay current as GLP-1 guidelines evolve.
You can cancel auto-renewal at any time before your anniversary date with no penalty.
In-person training includes a one-year CWMP™ certificate by default. This is a point-in-time credential and does not auto-renew.
Attendees can upgrade to the annual renewable certification at any time, gaining the benefits of ongoing content updates and an active directory listing on CertifiedMedicalProviders.com.
Both online and in-person programs are open to the following licensed medical professionals:
Providers should confirm scope of practice with their state or provincial governing board before enrolling support staff or offering new services.
Both formats cover the same core GLP-1 curriculum and lead to the CWMP™ certification. The key differences: in-person training includes advanced body contouring (CoolSculpting®, Vanquish®, SculpSure®), earns 9 CMEs vs. 6 for online, and is held as a 1-day intensive in Scottsdale, AZ. The online program is fully self-paced, renews annually, and does not include body contouring training.
Yes. In-person attendees receive a one-year CWMP™ certificate by default. You can upgrade to the annual renewable certification at any time to gain ongoing content updates, annual CMEs, and an active listing on CertifiedMedicalProviders.com.
The online program typically takes 7–10 hours and can be completed at your own pace. You have 12-month access from your enrollment date.
Yes. IAPAM courses are AAFP-reviewed and accepted as AMA PRA Category 1 credit™. The online program includes 6 CMEs annually; in-person training includes 9 CMEs.
Both programs include implementation resources to help you start offering weight management services immediately: patient intake forms, protocol templates, pricing guidance, and marketing materials. You also have the option to order Clean Start Weight Loss® program materials separately.
Both programs are open to MD/DO/MBBS, NMD, DMD/DDS, NP/APRN/CRNA, PA, and PharmD. Eligible providers may sponsor their support staff (such as RNs) for certification. Support staff cannot enroll independently. Always confirm scope of practice with your governing board.
If you cancel or do not renew, your CWMP™ certification expires and you lose access to updated training materials and your CertifiedMedicalProviders.com directory listing. You can re-enroll at any time, but you will need to complete the full certification process again.
Yes, though it is not required. Some providers complete the online program first for the foundational knowledge, then attend the in-person training to add hands-on body contouring training and earn additional CMEs.
Choose your training format and take the next step toward the CWMP™ certification.
