Q: Can I really do this while keeping my current job?
A: Absolutely. In the last few years, the majority of our graduates are easing into aesthetic medicine with a side hustle. You can begin with weekend or evening appointments and transition gradually as your confidence and income grow.
Q: How quickly can I start earning income?
A: Most graduates begin practicing their new cosmetic injection skills within a week or two of completing their training. Depending on how comfortable and confident you feel with other types of injections, you may be able to start seeing paying patients in as little as a couple of weeks after earning your certificate. Many earn back their investment within the first couple of months of practice. The key is starting with basic
injectable services and building from there.
Q: Do I need special equipment or a dedicated space?
A: You can start with minimal equipment and even offer mobile services. We provide complete equipment lists, vendor recommendations, and space setup guidance as part of the Business Fundamentals course. Many graduates start in shared spaces or with mobile services.
Q: Is there ongoing support after training?
A: If you add-on an annual IAPAM membership for $295, you have unlimited access to support including additional resources and templates in your online member portal, partner discounts on equipment, a members-only Facebook group to ask questions and network with other providers and more!
Q: What about liability and legal requirements?
A: The Business Fundamentals course helps instruct you on what you will need to assess in terms of legal and compliance requirements. We recommend you also talk to a healthcare lawyer about your specific situation including legal and compliance requirements, licensing, insurance, liability protection, and contracts.
Q: What’s the ROI timeline?
A: Even a handful of Botox patients monthly can cover tuition. With average treatment prices of $300-500 and minimal overhead for a side practice, most clinicians see positive ROI within 3-6 months.
Q: Is aesthetic medicine saturated in my area?
A: The aesthetic medicine market is growing 13.3% annually and the Botox® market alone is project to reach $13,74B by 2032. While competition exists in most markets, there’s room for quality providers who focus on excellent patient care and results. We teach you how to differentiate yourself and find your niche.
Q: How long do I have access to the course?
A: For any online courses, you will have unlimited access for 365 days with each certification renewal. Come back and review the information as much as you like – even after you’ve completed your training! Individual courses are 12-months from your purchase date.
Q: Do I get a certificate?
A: Yes. After completing a short assessment at the end of the online training courses, you will be emailed a download link to your certificate. Please check your junk/spam folder.
Q: Is this training accredited?
A: Yes. Both our online, self study certifications and our in-person, hands-on training are accredited for AMA PRA CAT 1 CMEs. The number of credits will depend on the courses you register for and your participation.
Q: Where is your hands-on training held?
A: Hands-on training is hosted through the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium (now in its 20th year!) in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. Next training dates are September 6-7, October 25-26 and December 6-7. If you are only interested in hands-on training, click here for pricing.
Q: What is the cancellation/refund policy?
A: Any registration, training or renewal fees are non-refundable once paid. You may cancel your renewal of membership or any renewing certifications at any time and retain access to your courses for the remainder of your certification year with no penalty.
In-person training fees are non-refundable. Should you need to cancel, you may reschedule your training dates. If cancellation is less than 14 days from your original training dates, a $500 rebooking fee may apply.
