Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between renewable and one-time certification?

Renewable certification (online program) automatically updates annually with new content, ensuring you stay current with evolving protocols and regulations.

One-time certification (in-person default) provides training at a point in time but doesn’t include ongoing updates. However, in-person attendees can opt to upgrade to renewable certification.

Why should I choose annual renewal over a one-time certificate?

Medical weight management is rapidly evolving with new GLP-1 medications, updated FDA guidelines, and changing best practices.

Annual renewal ensures you maintain current knowledge, regulatory compliance, and professional credibility. It also provides continuous access to updated training materials and new protocols.

Can I upgrade from one-time to renewable certification?

Yes! In-person training attendees can opt to upgrade to the renewable CWMP certification.

This gives you the benefits of hands-on learning plus ongoing access to updated materials and annual recertification.

What happens if I don’t renew my certification?

If you don’t renew, your certification expires and you lose access to updated training materials.

Your knowledge becomes outdated as new protocols and regulations emerge. You can re-enroll at any time, but you’ll need to complete the full certification process again.

Who is eligible for these programs?

Both programs are open to MD/DO/MBBS, NMD, DMD/DDS, NP/APRN/CRNA, PA, and PharmD.

Eligible providers may sponsor their support staff (such as RNs) for certification. Support staff cannot enroll independently.

How long does the training take?

Online training typically takes 7-10 hours and can be completed at your own pace.

In-person training is a 1-day intensive program held in Scottsdale, Arizona. Both provide comprehensive coverage of medical weight management protocols.
