Dr. Anne Walter, MD, MBA, FAAD, FACMS

About Dr. Walter

Dr. Anne Walter is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon who co-founded and serves as Medical Director of Dermatology & Skin Surgery Specialists in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is fellowship-trained in Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery, cutaneous oncology, and laser and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Walter brings a combination of clinical and business perspective to aesthetic medicine training for IAPAM’s healthcare provider faculty.

Education and Training

Dr. Walter earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University (2000–2004) and completed dual MD/MBA training at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine and Marshall School of Business (2004–2009). She completed an internal medicine internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (2009–2010) and her dermatology residency at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center (2010–2013). She completed her Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis under Dr. C. William Hanke (2013–2014) — during which she participated in over 2,000 skin cancer surgeries and cosmetic procedures.

Clinical Experience

Since founding her practice in 2015, Dr. Walter has performed over 10,000 surgical cases and her practice reports over 1,500 Mohs surgeries and roughly 2,000 skin cancer diagnoses annually. She is affiliated with Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale and brings a combined clinical and business perspective to aesthetic medicine through her dual MD/MBA training.
