Botox works by blocking the signals between the nerve and the muscle, which causes the muscle to relax. When Botox is injected into the platysma muscle, it weakens the muscle and reduces the appearance of the bands. This results in a smoother and tighter-looking neck. The procedure is relatively simple and non-invasive, it takes around 20 minutes and is done with very small injections of Botox.
It’s important to note that Botox for neck bands is not a permanent solution and the effects typically last for about 3-6 months. Repeat treatments are needed to maintain the desired results. A consultation with a qualified injector is recommended to determine if Botox for neck bands is the right treatment for you and to discuss the potential risks and benefits.
It’s also worth mentioning that Botox can also help improve the appearance of horizontal lines on the neck and give the lower face a lifted look, as the muscle won’t be pulling the face down anymore.

Botox injections in the platysma muscle of the neck effectively smooth out wrinkles and lines caused by muscle movement. By blocking nerve signals, the muscle relaxes, resulting in a tighter and more youthful appearance. The treatment is quick, non-invasive and can be done in as little as 20 minutes.
Before the treatment, the skin on the neck may appear saggy with vertical lines and wrinkles, also known as platysmal bands. These bands can be caused by the platysma muscle, which runs from the chest to the jawline. As we age, the muscle can become more prominent, causing the skin to appear saggy and the vertical lines to become more noticeable.
After the treatment, the skin on the neck appears smoother and tighter. The vertical lines and wrinkles become less noticeable, giving the neck a more youthful and rejuvenated look. The horizontal lines on the neck also become less noticeable. Additionally, when the platysma muscle is relaxed, the lower face appears lifted as the muscle is not pulling the face down anymore.
It’s important to note that while neck Botox can help to improve the appearance of the neck, it is not a permanent solution. The effects will gradually wear off and the treatment will need to be repeated to maintain the desired results. It’s also important to note that Botox is not recommended for those with a history of neuromuscular disorders.
