IAPAM offers both online and in-person training options. Online courses are self-paced and presented as a combination of readings, videos, and other downloadable training content. Some online courses and training bundles may be eligible to be credited toward in-person tuition for hands-on training. In-person sessions are conducted in real medical settings, such as medical spas and dermatology practices, where you’ll receive practical, hands-on experience.
Certification completion times vary by program and individual pace. On average, each online course within your chosen certification takes between 8–10 hours to complete. Hands-on training is conducted at the Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with 2, 3, or 4-day training packages available. Once training is complete, certification is granted after a final assessment.
For the Certified Aesthetic Provider (CAP ), hands-on training is highly recommended to ensure safe, effective practice. Online modules provide a strong foundation, but in-person training offers practical application and expert guidance. In addition, the CAP program requires that you submit an Aesthetic Provider Practice Log each year to achieve and maintain certification.
