The IAPAM was founded to unite licensed physicians who practice aesthetic medicine and their supporters. IAPAM membership is open to licensed medical doctors (MDs), doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) and the medical students studying for those degrees.
The IAPAM offers physicians practicing aesthetic medicine access to the latest and most up to date clinical and practice management aesthetic industry information. Membership is open to all licensed physicians and residents.
Physicians are required to abide by the principles of good medical practice, and be currently licensed with their appropriate medical certifying body.
Definition of Aesthetic Medicine:
“A branch of medicine focused on satisfying the aesthetic desires and goals of patients. This specialty is primarily focused on the pathophysiology of aging skin, and adheres to scientific based procedures.
Physicians practicing Aesthetic Medicine are trained in both invasive and non-invasive treatment modalities, and typically utilize a combination to meet the needs of the patient.” ~ International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine
