After you have successfully completed the assessments for Introduction to Cosmetic Injectables and Advanced Cosmetic Injectables, you will be emailed instructions on how to download your Cosmetic Injector Certification document.

You will have unlimited access to your courses for 12 months from your date of purchase. You can come back and review the training material as many times as you like – even after you’ve completed your certificate!

Yes. The Advanced Cosmetic Injector Certification expires one year after you complete your certification requirements. Note, this date may be different than your access expiration date depending on when you complete the course. 

The Advanced Cosmetic Injector Certification is open to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses.

After completing the Cosmetic Injector Certification, you must still follow your local laws and guidelines. This Certification does not give you the legal right to perform medical procedures. Please contact your local governing body to ensure you are working within your scope of practice prior to registering for training.

No. The two courses included in this certification, Introduction to Cosmetic Injectables and Advanced Cosmetic Injectables, are online self-study courses. The courses are comprehensive and include detailed procedural videos, text lectures and downloadable training content.

Hands-on training can be added with the Aesthetic Medicine Program at the Aesthetic Medicine Symposium. For more hands-on training information, see:

Note: Hands-on training is open to physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants and their support staff. If you are a nurse or other healthcare provider, you must attend with one of these designations.

No. Though it will help make you an even better injector by completing the online courses and attending hands-on training, our hands-on training course is not required to complete the certification.

Examples of situations where a licensed medical provider may not want to pursue hands-on training: If you are already comfortable with other types of injections, you work in an aesthetics clinic or medspa or you have a colleague or mentor to help you with your hands-on injection practice.

*The Advanced Cosmetic Injector Certification is offered only by the IAPAM. To receive this certification, you must successfully complete both the Introduction to Cosmetic Injectables and Advanced Cosmetic Injectables online certificate courses. Upon completion of both certificates, you will be emailed your Cosmetic Injector Certification, which will be valid for one year from the date it is emailed to you. 

The AAFP has reviewed Cosmetic Injectables for Healthcare Providers and deemed it acceptable for up to 20.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 09/01/2023 to 08/31/2024. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
